A Golden Treasury for the Children of God   by C.H.V. Bogatzky

A GOLDEN TREASURY

Twelve years ago I found “A Golden Treasury” (reprinted in 1746 by the American Tract Society) while browsing an antique store.  Flipping through C.H.V. Bogatzky’s writings and poetry “for every day of the year,” convinced me that I had  found a treasure.  At the time I did not know if I wanted to pay $40 for this little book of pages that were discolored, with printing so small and difficult to read, but the content, continually referring to the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, led me to want and purchase this book, whatever the cost. (I paid $6.00. As of today this same publication is available in “good condition” from Biblio.com for $427.50)

After years of using this little book, along with my Bible, my daughter and I, meticulously typed these daily meditations, keeping to the same format. Month by month we manually from our own computer and printer published them in booklet form for our family and friends.  After several years we put it aside, and saved the document until last year when we formatted it for publication through Amazon’s Kindle’s eBook program.  It is being offered for $.99. The majority of the proceeds from our 35% royalties will go to tithes and offerings for the ministry of the gospel of Christ and His church. The paperback listed on Amazon with the Look Inside description is not my publication.  The publisher of this copy is using my Kindle edition, without my permission, to sell his own duplicate of the original or a duplicate of my Kindle edition.

Here is Amazon’s site where you can purchase this eBook and have it downloaded to your computer or any of your wireless devices. (free apps for KINDLE).

Description of Kindle edition: A newly typed, easy to read, edition of a 365-day Christian devotional by Carl Heinrich von Bogatzky, printed in 1746. One of first devotionals for daily use “A Golden Treasury for the Children of God” is a treasure of meditations based on the scriptures of The Holy Bible.

While the print is new, the quality of Bogatzky’s writing and poetry have been kept intact. As the reader we are challenged in these meditations to examine our own faith and to bear fruit in our Christian life. Anyone will find more than enough in this volume for a deeper understanding of the word of God, and “growth in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

This new printing was first published in booklet form. If you are interested in “A Golden Treasury” in book form or monthly booklets please leave a comment. If there is enough interest, we will make these available for purchase on this site.

  1. Dear Fran,

I came across this old book a few years back and it’s been my absolute favorite devotional. To finally have it in digital form for Kindle is a HUGE blessing. Thank you, thank you!

    • Where did you find your book? When was it printed?
Have you downloaded the Kindle version? What do you think?
It is not as professional as I would like it to be.
If you are the only one blessed by it, then it was worth all the years of typing,
      proofing, and publishing it.
I have some of my own writings that I want to publish, but I could use some help
      converting them to Kindle?
The Lord continue to bless you ~ Fran
